In the video Alan Warburton talks about how we have moved beyond "the uncanny valley", and in that sense the uncanny valley is no longer an "interesting phenomenon", or maybe even relevant. One could argue that the title does not justify the content of the video, but for me, the title just reveals the authors stand regarding the uncanny valley as a phenomenon.
Besides that, I really loved the video :-)

Re: Goodbye Uncanny Valley

You might have a point about the choice of the title not being too appropriate. But that doesn't really make the video less brilliant and informative about the current state of CG, no?

Re: Goodbye Uncanny Valley

This is clearly a video that does not understand the term of the uncanny valley. I'm very disappointed that creativeapplications would just link to a video like this without seeing the obvious error in the subject. The uncanny valley has nothing to do with the photo-realism of rocks and leaves. Please read the definition of the term to understand how besides the point this video is. https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

Re: Media Lab Hacking Manufacturing

So cool

Re: NO_THING – An infrared light framework that turns (almost) anything into a device

Hello, I'd like to know who took the photographies and if they are licensed under creative commons "CC BY" ?

By the way, nice work :)

Thank you,
Natasha

Re: Digital Zones of Immaterial Pictorial Sensibility – An Yves Klein inspired cryptocurrency

If you really like art that makes you stop and consider, you might want to check out Violent Garden, a new solo exhibition by Fawn Rogers, an amazing LA-based artist. Eventually, you'll want to use a better DC-coupled DAC (MOTU works great) for a more stable signal drawing and multi-channel to play with z-axis blanking. + be sure to check out Jerobeam Fenderson's recent tutorial series on youtube for further advice.

Re: XYscope – A Processing library to render graphics on a vector display

How do I hook up the oscilloscope to the computer to communicate?

Re: Computed Curation – Curating photography with neural networks

Impressive!
